Toronto Human Rights Watch Film Festival

The Toronto Human Rights Watch Film Festival is a project of the Human Rights Watch Canada Committee. The festival brings to life human rights abuses through storytelling in a way that challenges individuals to empathize and demand justice for all people.

The screening of Fernand Melgar’s award-winning documentary Special Flight opens the 9th annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival, co-presented with TIFF, on February 29, 2012 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The festival will run until March 9, 2012 closing with director Jon Shenk’s acclaimed documentary, The Island President.

Tickets are available at the door for most screenings, or in advance by calling 416-599-TIFF (8433). For tickets to the Closing Night Reception, please call Human Rights Watch Canada at 416-322-8448.
